Your aircon didn't use up the gas
Refrigerant runs in a sealed loop. It doesn't burn off and it doesn't wear out. If your unit is low, it went somewhere, and that somewhere is a leak.
A shop that just tops you up and drives off has sold you a few months of cold air. You'll be calling someone again by the next hot spell, paying again, and the leak will have got worse. Run a system low on gas long enough and the compressor goes, which is a RM900 problem instead of a RM120 one.
So we pressure test before any gas goes in. No leak, you pay the refill price and nothing more. Leak found, you get the repair price before we touch anything, and you can still say no.
Signs your unit is low on gas
Low gas and a dirty coil feel almost identical from across the room. These are the ones that point at gas rather than dirt.
- Air is cool but never properly cold
- Runs all day and the room never gets there
- Ice on the copper pipe or the indoor coil
- A hissing or bubbling sound from the unit
- Electricity bill climbing with no change in use
- It was topped up recently and it's weak again

We use the gas your unit is built for. R22, R410A or R32, whichever is printed on the outdoor unit sticker. We don't mix types and we don't substitute, because that's how compressors get killed.

Why does my aircon need gas at all? Doesn't it get used up?
No, and this is the thing most people are never told. Refrigerant runs in a sealed loop. It doesn't burn off or wear out the way petrol does.
If your unit is low on gas, it leaked out somewhere. That's why a top-up on its own is a temporary fix, and why we check for the leak before we put gas in.
Is the leak check really included?
Yes, on both the top-up and the full refill. We pressure test before we add anything.
If there's no leak you pay the refill price and nothing more. If we find one we tell you what it costs to fix before we touch it, and you can still say no.
Which refrigerant do you use?
R22, R410A or R32, whichever your unit is built for. The type is printed on the sticker on the outdoor unit, so send us a photo of it and we'll confirm before we come out.
We don't mix types or substitute, because that damages the compressor.
